Once I came across this sentence, which is actually a quotation from a famous person. This sentence reads 'Nothing prevents happiness like the memory of happiness'. How do you comprehend this sentence? _________________ My motto is enjoy life in my own way. |

hi Joylu~
to me it means that you can't be happy in the present if you are always thinking about your past happiness--maybe it can make a person sad thinking about how he/she used to be happy once.
but perhaps the person who came up with the quote was depressed?
i like to think about past happiness, myself. it makes me happy.

I agree, Toe, but don't take famous quotes and proverbs too literally. I think it is meant to say that if you remember the past too strongy, you will miss the chance for happiness today because nothing will seem to be equal to the past... just my opinion. |
