Dear teachers:

The words "disc" and "disk" have the same pronunciation. But when it comes to writing, which one would you prefer?

Thanks.

I write "disk," but a quick look at the dictionary shows that "disc" is used in the U.S., while "disk" is used in the U.K. I wonder what other countries use!

Thanks bud. So it is better to write "disc" since the application would be filed in the US.

In the UK these days people use either disc or disk indiscriminately

However, there is a tendency to use disk when we mean a flat circular object and disc when refering to the flat circular object in connection with computers, or DVDs or CD ROMS.
