here's the original article about Trittin's statements, at least i think it is this article.

5th paragraph, below, wrote:
If Bush had only listened to Uncle Trittin and signed the Kyoto Protocol, then this never would have happened.

i can't deny a certain truth when Trittin said that the general global warming causes more thunderstorms, tornados and even hurricanes. but i really really doubt that, if bush had signed the protocol, there wouldn't have been this hurricane "katrina". that's naive to think that a signature to the kyoto protocol would immediately influence the general climate in the world Rolling Eyes

and, i'm ashamed of the way german politicians use such a horrible catastrophe to campaign for their parties..

but i also can't believe that the US citizens actually do believe that in germany there would be no sympathy, because that's absolutely wrong. the civilians finally can't influence what the ministers write.

by the way, i think i'd would (have been? ..) be much wiser for the campaign of any party to pledge aid money, make announcements of immediate help or something like that .. Wink i mean, the donations are voluntarily and the feeling that you actually can help the people is a really good one.
