Hello.
Is there something wrong with the sentence underlined. Is it right? Is it natural?
Please help.
When I go to the library.
And take a book from the shelf.
I sit and read about wonderful things.
And then I forget myself.
A window opens on the world. |

I don't think it is correct .
It should be
When I go to a library, I take out a book from the shelf.
I sit and read about wonderful things, and then I'm getting forget myself.
I'm not sure, but there are definitely mistakes . _________________ Bring it on ! |

It's good that you have found a mistake.
But the thing I want to know is the Verb "open".
I know "open" requires an object. Open something.
why Open in the sentence requires a preposition, which makes me confused. And that what I want to know.
Please help. |

It's poetry and there are no mistakes, except perhaps the punctuation should be commas except for the final full stop. (period)
A window on the world means that you have a way of viewing the world.
For instance, you could say that the internet is a window that opens on the world, because you can find out so many interesting things from all different parts of the world. |

I agree with you its a poetry. Perhaps it is no necessary to change anything but the punctuation. And what you explain to me is so clear that I won't have any questions.
Thanks a lot. |

A window opens on the world, and through this window you can see the world.
That is the library or the books.
Am I right?
The verb "open" here means enter or access. |

Dear Vin21.
I think there is nothing wrong in your idea. Moreover, my knowledge is widened by 2 other verbs "enter" and "access".
thank you a lot. |
