What is the difference?

There is not a lot of difference, but it could mean that you shut the door while you are taking a bath (while you are actually taking it, while you are in the bath, which would be difficult.)
It is more clear when you say you close the door when you take a bath. You close the door before you get into the bath. |

-ing is attached to a verb to show a present action. the sentences mean close to the same thing and not a big deal. |
