Sammy Sosa is a famous baseball player in USA. He is so well-known that people in USA refer to him as Sosa and everyone knows who he is.
A homerun is a play that is made in baseball in which the batter (Sosa) hits the ball outside of the outfield. The batter (Sosa) then runs all of the bases and scores a point for his team.
Not everyone can hit a homerun each time one hits the ball, but when one does, it is cause for a cheer from the crowd, just as a goal in European football (soccer in USA) is cheered. |

| Yes, and "Sosa home run" would mean a very long home run, longer than almost anyone else could hit one. So it it not just a very good thing, it is superlative. |
