Korea
I taught in Korea for a year and it was a very positive experience. The Korean people went out of their way to help foreigners, crime seemed not to exist (although it must), and my school trated me very well. Should you wish to go, my advice is to follow the common-sense guidelines for any overseas ...

Cuba
I was approached to teach in Cuba at a recent TOESL convnetion. Sadly, i don't remember the lady's name.
As a side note, I would avoid Havana. It's run-down and depressing. Go for elsewhere. Of course, visit before you go.

As far as I know, CAN encloses two functions, denoting ability or possibility. I want to give a few notes to the auxiliary. 2. If today is Tuesday and the sky is now so cloudy that Tom predicts it CAN rain tonight, it is a possibility. ************** This sounds awkard. What do you think of this ex...

Thanks for the note. The students are in their first semester of MA TESOL training- teachers of tomorrow. The course objectives are to give an overview of AL. The administration has given me the class, which begins May 3, and I'm very worried by the vague mandate: "Skip phonetics and phonology." As ...

My university has assigned me to teach a graduate course in the TOESL program entitled "Introduction to Applied Linguistics." I feel overwhelmed at the prospect of teaching AL in a 45-hour course. Any suggestions as to what you feel are the most important/salient regions of AL to include would be WE...
