The NATO Alphabet.
I have made it a habit to always teach students the NATO Alphabet, it is incredibly useful to them as many 'non English' names are somewhat difficult to spell, especially over the phone, so knowing the NATO Alphabet comes in handy.

That would be Mandarin (spoken by over 1 Billion people).

Spanish is also very useful, spoken by over 400 Million people.

In doubt, French is always useful, too!

This reply comes a little late since you posted it several months ago, but in my experience idioms and sayings are a fun thing to teach- and most students enjoy and appreciate it. You wouldn't believe how many 'fluent' speakers/ English students I have taught, that were excellent at business English...
