Do you want the kids to actually design the shirts, or do you have a design in mind? If you have a design, I would recommend iron-on transfer paper for the computer printer. If the kids will be designing the shirts, depending on the country you are in, you should be able to buy paints, including puf...

Pigpen, how mentally challenged are these students? Are we talking a bit learning disabled? High-functioning trainable/educable students? Do they speak and understand their first language?

when the "real" lesson starts, with sequential stages leading towards a specific language point, new people constantly arriving affects the smoothness and general continuity of the lesson. This is the problem...in a well-structured lesson, the later parts just won't work with students who were not ...

Every year I give fancy certificates to my students (elementary school) with their current level printed on them. I also put "seals" on them for "Great Improvement" or "English Mastery." Why? - They will be recognized at the end-of-the year awards ceremony. - They will have "proof" of their language...
