Hey, Thanks for the thoughts so far. I've found out it's not actually the sound in sewer - well only if you pronounce it a certain way. The sound is in the standard UK pronunciation of 'pure' and 'lure' - although some regions don't say it with this sound in. And I don't say it either. It's the soun...
