To Sally, I am getting them to read out loud to check for pronunciation, understanding and correct emphasis. In light of this do you have any suggestions?

what is a fun and unique way to make reading fun, instead of just making kids read in turns?

I would just try and get the kids to open up to you, find out what they are interested in and a bit about their culture. Get them to pair off and interview each other about their family/interests/likes/dislikes then each one reports back to the class about their partner. This will help you to tailor...
