songs for university students and adults
Any ideas for relatively recent songs that could be used as listening activities for these 2 groups of students? would like to do some cloze exercies and then use the lyrics as a spring board to discussions.

I like Cutting Edge (Longman) - it has starter to advanced levels, with interesting material, the teacher ressource books are quite good too. Inside Out (Macmillan) is good, especially with younger adults. Language to Go (Longman) has short chapters if you need something for a shorter lesson format....

I took a look at both the VOA and Breaking News sites and they seem quite interesting. The audio quality on VOA is better than the other.
I'll use them in my next TOEFL class and see what the students think.

good books and taping radio programs
I've just taken on the teaching of a Toefl class. The school has the Longman book but some students have already used large parts of it for practice. I'd like to get another book but I'm not sure which would be the best bet for students with a good level. Any suggestions? I'd like to do listening ex...
