Congratulations! What grade are you going to teach? It will be helpful if you mention your student's English level. Just remember you need a wide variety of books you need to include all genres. Once you start working with your students you will observe what kind a reading they prefer. Good Luck!

To teach ESL students you will need the same supplies as the regular classroom. You can work with your vocabulary development with things around your classroom. To teach ESL you don't need sofisticated equipment. Good luck!

Thank you for all your comments and advise. :lol: I just want the best for the students, since we don't have a bilingual teacher in 1st. grade. The only bilingual instruction they will get is in kindergarten. DO YOU KNOW ANY BILINGUAL TEACHER WILLING TO TEACH in this district?? :roll:

By law you have to do it annually, but you can also do it before TAAS or TAKS to suuport your exemptions. Informally you can assess them while they are working to plan your instruction according to their needs. :lol
