I think you could use hundreds of songs - it all depends on what you want to accomplish. CLOZE-exercises can be done with almost any song. There are also a couple of songs which can be used for grammatical instruction of for learning vocab.

I wouldn't mind a list though :)

Reading strategies worksheets

I have a student who would like to practice reading strategies. I would like to talk about guessing the meaning of an unknown word. I've searched on the internet, but I was unable to find any worksheets for that specific strategy.

Does anyone know a nice website for practising reading strategies?

Variety is key. If you do the same kind of activity over and over, they will get bored (as will you). :)

I agree with Lorikeet. I know someone who copies accents in less than a minute. She has an American accent, but when she speaks to one of her Irish friends on the phone, she suddenly has a heavy Irish brogue. I need more exposure, but I too am able to copy accents. However, I also know people who ca...

I love the notebook idea. It's always possible to expand it i.e. start with 'I am Eric', 'I am 21 years old' and end with 'I am a wonderful teacher' (I hope ;))

Thank you so much! :D

Tutoring a beginner - in English!

I'm a student teacher from the Netherlands and I have a tutor student. She is Korean, has been in this country for three months (so doesn't speak Dutch) and wishes to learn English. However, she is an absolute beginner. This means that I have to teach her English in English. You can probably see the...
