Teaching Assignment in June
Hi, I'm about an hour from completing my online TESOL training (I'll comment on that later), so I decided to do some volunteer work this summer at the library. They've given me a free room, and I'm now advertising to teach up to 8 people once a week for 6 weeks. I'm going to spend the next month or ...

Hi, I'm sorry I missed this! I promise I wasn't ignoring you:) I got confirmation that I really didn't need the TKT. I went and had it removed from my training. I'm glad I did it because now they're rethinking the whole idea of Americans actually having a choice to take it or not. Hey, I just did a ...

Thank you for the info/advise. So basically, TKT is little more than "window dressing" for an American, is what I hearing from you. I have a BA in English Lit, but no teaching credential. My desire is to set up a program in my church, and maybe go back to school to get the credential/MA. Thanks agai...

Cambridge TKT
Hi,
I'm trying to find out how necessary the Cambridge TKT is for an American. I don't see myself going outside the U.S. for a few years yet, and I will not be traveling to New York to take the exam.
Input?
Thanks

Good Morning! Yes, I've been researching these things as well. I have a meeting with two other people next week to discuss what this will look like, so we can present an official proposal to our pastor. There is a class here, but I'm not excited about the costs. I want the three of us to go through ...

How funny that you just responded to my post. I just spoke with the people over at that Linguaedge program and totally decided against it. I wanted something quick that I could put under my belt and then build while working, but that place isn't it. I'm now looking at "SeriousTeacher.com" and I thin...

That sounds great. Now I just have to get the Pastor on board for it. Sunday works best for me as I am quite a distance from church. There's a program here called,"Linguaedge" and I'm thinking of taking that certification course. It's only 149.00 and it'll give me the basics that I can apply while s...

Thanks so much, Sally~ Wonderful information, and I'm excited about the prospects! I'll just start reading preparing a plan that will be easy for everyone. Maybe only 12 people per class to allow for 1 on 1 interaction? I just need to figure out the best time. At the other church, people were coming...

Creating An ESL Program For Church
Thanks for signing me up. I'm not a teacher, but I have a BA in English (Lit). I've taught ESL in the past, and have been invited to help design a program at a church. The problem? Well, the truth is, as well intentioned as they are, what they're doing now is mostly holding a conversational cafe, wh...
