Review Activies

Post by HokkaHokka » Fri Apr 25, 2003 6:22 am

Hi!
I work at a junior high school in Japan.
The reason that I am writing this is that I am interested in hearing about review activites that people have found to be useful/fun.
I often use Jeopardy, Row races, Bingo games and Criss Cross but I want to try something new!
All suggestions greatly appreciated!
Cheers
HH

For vocabulary, how about fill in the gap tests written by the students.

Method
1. Put students into groups.
2. Give each group a list of vocabulary that has been studied.
3. Have them write a fill-in the blank vocabulary test for another Group.
Go round and monitor/help while they are doing this.
4. When the tests are finished (make sure you've checked the tests all
make sense; hence, the need to help/monitor in stage 3), the groups
swap tests and do them.
5. Members of the group who wrote the test then correct and give
feedback to the students who did their test.

Nb. When doing this it is a good idea to group weaker and stronger students together.

Regards
Stephen
