Halloween activities for adults?

Post by Showem » Wed Oct 27, 2004 11:31 pm

Anyone have any good ideas of some Halloween based activities for adults? I did a search through the forums, but most are too kiddy-based to be of interest to the adults I teach.

Halloween Activities

Post by mtvesl » Mon Nov 01, 2004 6:02 pm

Hello.
I used to teach a class of adults and my partner teacher and I came up with some pretty fun activities.

We started with the background history of Halloween and had the students read. Then, they answered and asked questions about the reading.

We also did the history of the Jack O'Lantern and had them write out the steps of making one with a partner.

Our final activity was watching the end of Sleepy Hollow. The students saw the end of the movie Sleepy Hollow and had to come up with the events leading to this end. We got some pretty interesting stories!

Hope this helps for next time. :D

Using Sleepy Hollow is a good idea. The film is a bit long, but the cartoon might be the right length for a class next year. Thanks for the idea mtvesl. :)
