Special Projects Ideas??

Post by MoogeeBark » Sat Jun 04, 2005 8:43 am

Hey all!

Thanks for reading this post. I run a special English camp and I need some ideas for student-led projects. I have 30 students, who are all high-level. {they are Korean middle school 3rd graders - aged 16} I see them working on this project for a total of 4 hours. There will be 10 students and one teacher in each group. We have access to computers and the web, and I have lots of materials for them to use. The only problem is.......I have no idea what they should be doing their project on...... I thought about each group researching and presenting on national holidays around the world, but there is not enough work in that for all of them....

so, does anyone have any ideas?

I really appreciate your help!!

Thanks!

How about them picking a particular singer or band and finding all they can about that person or group? They can get pictures, bio, list of songs, lyrics, find their web site, find out about their personal likes and dislikes, and news stories about them. They can make up a package of information in a certain order so all the projects provide the same information and make a table of contents and title page. They can make up puzzles, games, crosswords, information gap activities, and comprehension questions for future students to do when they read the projects that you will place in your English library.
