idea for little scientists activity

This activity will go for a whole month, and it's my first attempt to running an activity like this, think of some activities to play with kids, guide them to think of some great ideas, like a little scientists.
Well, hope i can get some ideas, please help. Thanks.

A bit of biology in the EFL classroom

If you buy a bag of mung beans (sometimes called moong beans - small green beans) you can get each student, or pair of students, to sprout them. You'll need a load of jars and access to water but the beans sprout quickly so over a weekend you'll get a real difference - nice for practising the present perfect: Look, my shoots have grown an extra cm! You could also do superlatives, who has the longest, the shortest, the thickest etc. Most importantly, you get a tasty snack at the end of the exercise!

Here is a link to Scholastic Magic School Bus with 20+ simple science ideas. They are very easy to prepare and offer ideas for feedback exercises.

That ought to get you started, if you're working with young children.

If you are doing this with older (JHS/HS) students those activities might be too simple. Here are some more activities that are better for older students.
