Activities for "To be" Irregular Past

Hello Everyone,

I am a teacher at a jr & sr. high school in Japan. I was looking for activities to teach "To be" Irregular Past. Unfortunately, this group of jr high girls are not the most responsive. I am lucky that this is the only group of this sort for me. Anyway, any ideas would be helpful. I already have an icebreaker to ask them what they did for the Summer and using "so, I was at the ... or we were......
