Jazz Chants

Any interesting ideas for Jazz Chants to be used in the adolescent classroom? Have only recently been introduced to the idea (currently retraining in TESOL) and examples in our notes and trawling the net a bit have not impressed me. Any suggestions gratefully received

I use them extensively in my pronunciation class. My suggestion is write your own.

Jazz Chants are really rap, and are good for teaching rhythm. My adult students like them. Maybe you could have your students help write some.

Thanks Lorikeet, but I'm still studying, have no Ss as yet.(Need it for assessment) Have been ploughing through home study for this part of my course, so am a bit drained for ideas, that's why I asked for inspiration- just didn't know where to start. My original training was not in languages, so that's why I have a bit of a block, I guess. Anyway, maybe someone else can give me some ideas.

I haven't used jazz chants (yet). I did observe a class that used them and it went over really well. I do know that there's a book about jazz chants by Caroline Graham. I think it's just called 'Jazz Chants' but i'm not sure.
