Need activity suggestion for interview

Post by Coquine » Tue Mar 18, 2003 5:04 pm

Hi gang,

I've been out of the teaching loop for a while, and I've got a job interview tomorrow for an TESL position (teaching adults) and I was asked to prepare an activity to share with the group during our interview. It should be a communicative activity at the intermediate level and last about 10 minutes.
Any suggestions?

I know I'll do fine, I'm just kinda nervous, but any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Coquine

Hi Coquine,

This might be too late for you, but a suggestion anyways. It's only appropriate for a bigger class (8+). Prepare a "Find Someone Who" game. Do it in a 5x5 grid, with topics appropriate to their level and area. For example, one topic could be "Find someone who can ice-skate". Etc etc. Each st. gets a grid and has to go around the class, trying to find someone who fits one square. They can only ask each st. one question per turn before finding someone new to ask. When they find someone, they write the name of the person who fits the topic on the square. Whoever fills in 5 squares in a row is the winner. Good for practicing previously learnt vocab or grammar items.
