Subject: great game
Just played a really good phonicball game with a class of P3
Had five Phonicball boards set up . One for each row. Set up against
blackboard using long magnets to fix to board.
This is the description.
Each kid at front of class drew 3 letters from alphabet cards.
When I said go they had to throw their ball at the target and try and
hit the letters that they drew from the alphabet.
If their balls stuck to other letters they had say the letter and its
sound and then write a word beginning with each letter on the board
before they could pass the ball to the second person.
The winning group was the first team to get all three letters and
write three words beginning with their letters.
Kids were wrapped and some interesting vocabulary was developed and
reinforced.
Great game for English Day activities as it can be modified for any
level
Great Game

throwing sticky toys
I do a similar thing with one of those sticky toys, the kids throwing it at a whiteboard which has been divided up into different letters, and collecting letters which they must use to make words.
It wasn't deemed good enough for the ideas cookbook! They do like it though, I promise you.
