Small Class Help!

Hey everyone -

I've been given charge of a group of 2-3 students for 45 minutes a few times a week. These are 17-18 year olds who speak fairly elementary english. My other classes are 8 or more students, so I'm having trouble adjusting my lesson plans to these. They are also very shy, which makes it even harder. Any ideas for very small group classes, emphasizing listening and speaking?

Thank you,

Perhaps you could modify the activities you use where you break up your larger classes into pairs or smaller groups, and just consider your small class to be one group.

Can you give any examples of activities you're having trouble modifying to use with your smaller class?

dunno enough about the environment (following idea depends on levels of course)...

is there a restaurant or some other 'destination' close? you could make it an 'out and about' class, and adlib on practical stuff...
