Hi! I'm a teacher of esl. Recently I took a in-service training, now I'm looking for some materals for my paper which is titled "How to let your students talk in your class". I hope we can have a discussion or I wonder could you give me some ideas about that from your experience of teaching or learning. Thank you in advance!

Pair work?

Interesting topics?

Biting your own tongue and allowing the cultural pause to pass before students finally speak?

Calling on students individually instead of expecting them to volunteer?

A lot of this is culture-dependent, and a lot depends on the level of students' English ability.
