Teacher's manuals and workbook usage

Hi,

I'd like to ask anyone who uses EFL/ESL textbooks...

Q1. About what percentage of your lessons are informed by reference to the teacher's manual?

a) 0 - 20%
b) 21 - 40%
c) 41 - 60%
d) 61 - 80%
e) 81 - 100%

Q2. In about what percentage of your lessons have you used materials from the accompanying workbook?

a) 0 - 20%
b) 21 - 40%
c) 41 - 60%
d) 61 - 80%
e) 81 - 100%

Q3. What percentage of your past and present students have owned and used the accompanying workbook?

a) I don't know
b) 0 - 20%
c) 21 - 40%
d) 41 - 60%
e) 61 - 80%
f) 81 - 100%

This is for an informal background questionnaire for a research course that is a component part of an MA course that I'm doing. Any and all answers in any shape or form will be gratefully received and I'll be happy to send on the results to anyone who replies and / or to this bulletin board.

d) Students are required to buy the workbook. Also, to my surprise, I have discovered that there are workbook exercises on structures not covered in the text, so I have to be careful

Q3. What percentage of your past and present students have owned and used the accompanying workbook?
f) Students are required to buy the workbook.
