songs for university students and adults

Any ideas for relatively recent songs that could be used as listening activities for these 2 groups of students? would like to do some cloze exercies and then use the lyrics as a spring board to discussions.

One idea I would suggest is to ask students to provide you with their favorite songs. Tell them to give you the CD as well as lyrics for the song. You can take the songs and present them to the class in creative ways (try some of the ideas here ---> http://www.onestopenglish.com/news/maga ... _songs.htm ).

Alternatively, you could have a different student do a presentation on his or her favorite song each class.
