I just inherited a BUSINESS class and the book they have is terrible. Any suggestions for activities of any level. The students are Hi Level or Advanced so their english is good enough for roleplay.
Thank You!!!!

The business class at my school focuses on student presentations, class projects, and regular business software (e.g. MS Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
Student presentations generally consist of using Powerpoint to present reports. Class projects have been planning school bbq's, creating an advertising plan for the school, and raising money for charity. Business software has been mostly using the Internet to research stuff for presentations, although the teacher is trying to do more with the software itself.

First, are they working fulltime or are they university students taking BE because they're business majors? I ask because last year I had to use the BEC Higher text with sophomore-level business majors in China, most of whom had no business experience. Totally useless. If they're working adults you can build on what they do in the office--handle calls from customers, write memos/faxes/e-mails, attend meetings, make presentations etc. If they're still in school you might have to structure it more. One text I have used is Business Across Cultures which has a lot of "mini-cases" to spark discussion.

I'd suggest looking in the Business English Forum if you haven't already. I know I've posted a lot of ideas on various threads with similar questions.
