Hi, I am Steven Lee from Guandong province China. I am an English teacher. I’ve been teaching English for nearly twenty years, and now I am teaching a class with fifty students who are at the age between 13 years old to 14 years.
Through all these years of teaching, I get to know that the way to arouse their interests to learn English is the most effective way. Now I am also the headmaster of this school. I sincerely hope that students can learn English language by making pen pal with the foreign country. There are several advantages by using this method:
1.Encourage their field of vision. By making pen pal, they can have more chance to let them know about the outside world. Students at these age, if they can get some foreign friends, will greatly open their eyeshot.
2.Intercultural communication. Different countries have different cultural base. For example, each nation has one biggest holiday and the ways to celebrate them are different. When we learn the foreign language, we need to learn about this culture. It would be the best way for the students to learn about them through the pen pal’s cooperation.
3.Let the students make foreign friend under our guidiance. That would help them for their whole lives. If it is possible, our schools can also be friends, too. That will improve the school’s education.
Of course, all these plans need our teachers’ directing, we will lead them into all kinds of important topics, mostly the culture communication.
This project sounds very interested and the more students attend them, the more useful they will be. So I really hope you will join us.
