I am now teaching a large EFL class. about 50 students in a class. I need to teach them 'used to'. Can anyone suggest a game for this purpose?

Divide the class into groups of about 6 (I have done this activity with as many as 40 but never 50). Give them an envelope of situation cards where they have to describe a situation or something that has happened using only the phrase: I used to _______, but now I _____________.

For example, If the card reads: Moved to the city.

I used to breathe clean air, but now I breathe dirty air.
I used to work on a farm but, now I work in a factory.
I used to live in a small house, but now I live in an apartment.
I used to walk to work, but now I take the subway.

The other students in the group have to guess what happened based on those clues.

You can get some cards from this website.

Hiya!

I would suggest a game:

They have to describe in groups of 4-5 what they used to like or dislike/ or do or did not do as kids.

It worked with a class of 39 here

Good luck!
