Small summary of online Halloween Materials

Post by Jason » Mon Oct 20, 2003 4:22 pm

Hi Xelin and others.

Thought it might be useful to put a small summary of what's online around the place for teachers looking for Halloween resources. They've been mentioned elsewhere in individual posts.

There are (my own) English Raven Halloween materials, including free flashcards, game cards and wordfinds. Fairly straightforward stuff, for teachers looking for games specifically along with some opportunities for language use:

Boggles World also have their materials up, a nice variety of stuff actually including worksheets, crosswords, creative writing materials, some gap-fills, rhymes and some targeted grammar practice. It's a great site, and their stuff is always quality (they also cover a good spread of ages and class types):

ESL Kidstuff have got a really impressive list of things you can do - I especially like the arts and crafts activities they outline, as a lot of them are straight-forward and don't appear to need lots of preparation. They also include a useful links section to other sites with Halloween orientated suggestions:

And last (but certainly not least!), there's Richard Graham's GenkiEnglish site, which has some really nice activities and suggestions (including some crafts ideas). Richard's materials and activities are always highly children and fun-orientated, and particularly appropriate for teaching elementary/primary levels in Japan:

Hope that small list gives people lots to think about and try out!

Cheers,

Jason
