Hi everyone! Does anyone know of a board game designed for ESL/EFL?
Thought it might be fun.

Scrabble and Apples to Apples are good

For a Friday afternoon or last day of term, I like to play Scrabble or "Apples to Apples" - great game if you've never tried it. The cards and rules are available online.

Is that what you meant or are you asking about commercial products?

'Word Up' is a commercial ESL board game, and it's excellent.

I've used it many times in class as an end of course fun activity. It's kind of like trivial pursuit for ESL students, and the questions come in 5 levels of difficulty.

My students really enjoy it.

How about some co-operative games? A small company from Ontario, Canada, called Family Pastimes, make board games that are challenging and fun. I have used the group games in the catelogue many times in my classes with great success.

There is also an alternative to Scrabble called Upwords which seems to be a little easier and emphasizes word patterns.
