Activities for food / restaurants / order food

Post by MCHAMMER » Sat Nov 15, 2008 3:20 am

Hey, I am 19 years old and I am an english teacher in China, Guangxi Provice. Right now I have been 3 months in China. I am a teacher at a Middle School and my classes have around ~ 60 students. The last few lessons I was talking about food (what food do you know) and about how to order food in a restaurant. I have written some dialogues for the students to show how to get starters / main courses and desserts.

In the next lesson I would like to dwell on that topic and to revise all that vocabs. I was thinking about a game or activitiy, but I am not sure which one. Is a role-play a good choice? If yes, how can I prepare a role play which is interesting / funny on the one side, but helpful on the other side?

I teach senior 1, they are around 16 years old. They english is poor, but they are motivated and want to learn something. Does anyone of you have a good idea how to prepare a role play for a whole lesson (45min)? are there any other good opportunities how to revise the last lessons?

Thanks for everthing.

There's a project here:

It's a project about making a restaurant and has a restaurant role-play. With 60 students I imagine you'll need to make some changes, but it might give you some ideas.
