Hi all. I got a question about this idiom. I think someone says it to booast what he/she has just done. I'd appreciate if anyone can tell me the origin of this idiom, as in why apples?

You're right about the meaning. As for the origin, who knows, but my imagination tells me that it originated from a farmer - an apple farmer - an apple farmer from Texas (hence 'them apples' instead of those apples).

Does that sound about right?
