Hello, i'm a new teacher here and i'm haveing a problem with one of my students thats taking over the class. I only have the class for one hour as i work for a private after school club so they need to make the most of it. I need the class to speak English for 40 mins out of the hour, we play games i do lots of different things but it always end up out of control, what ever i say this always happens.
I have done the talking, giving another chance, talking to the parents, giving another chance, this girl just won't do as i ask and now i don't know what to do as the other children are beginning to do the same, not as bad but still. All i ask of the class is not to speak French untill we do the activity book then yes. This don't happen with this one girl.
So any idears, sorry about the long message, just i'm new and really want to do my best. This has been going on now for 10 weeks!!!

Is there any way she can be removed from the class until she behaves as expected? If she is taken out enough days, maybe she'll get the picture. She's already everyone's time with her disruptions. There must be some way of punishing her, not just talking to her, which obviously isn't working. I know that something like ADD or tourettes is a posibility also, but the parents should have brought that up during a meeting.
