Help with relative clauses!

Post by JStar284 » Tue Apr 06, 2004 2:01 pm

How would you explain to a student when to use "which" versus "that" when forming relative clauses?

that is used for people or things
which can only be used for things (NOT people)
(who is also used for people)

So if it's about things you can use "which" or "that", doesn't matter which!
So you're pretty safe with "that"!! :D
