Hello Undeterred,

Glenski did an exceptional job in answering your questions and I really have very little else to offer. My only answer which differs is to the first question. I use the dialogs that are in the students' books, so they can read along. We do another listening section later. I have no disagreement with Glenski's way.

Every other answer I have to your questions matches Glenski's, so I won't waste either or our time going through them.

Thank you for your comment on my posts.

I have each class twice a week. Do you think it would be a good idea to spend 2 lessons on each topic?
It depends on how well the students acquire the content. You can be flexible with your syllabus.

I missed this one.
5) Could you give me an example of a highly structured (teacher centered) speaking task?
Drilling, choral response to teacher questions using picture cues, or randomly targeting students to use the target content, possibly through demonstration. I do not whole-heartedly reccommend these techniques, but sometimes they can be helpful.

Don't burn yourself out. Enjoy your summer vacation.

Glenski and GOJ,

Thank you very much for your replies.

You have both reconfirmed the methods that I employ myself and I am looking forward to enjoying the summer break and recharging my batteries.

Have a great summer,
undeterred
