Though family relationship are nowadays less important than in the past, more and more grandparents play an important part with their grandchildren.
According to the European grandparents school, ladies are the most active. So they think they have power on their grandchildren. In case of quarrels, they do not hesitate to take them to court.
There is also an increase of divorces, sometimes because of grandmothers. It is only in 1970 that they obtained protected rights of access and lodging. But texts are clear : children opinion are dominant and grandparents are not parents.
Grandparents have nothing to prove, it is parents who have to demonstrate that their parents can not look after their grandchildren. But grandparents often win case.
