teaching literature in mexico

i just found out that i-m going to be teaching an ESL literature class. i have 3 students in the 11th grade but the class will be at an 8th grade level. we have a textbook. i-d love to hear any suggestions, and i am particularly interested right now in any games or activities involving participial phrases. thank you!
