Wtriting Teaching

I teach middle school students who are 15 or 16 years old. Some students who are good at English think that writing is not very difficult, they can finish the writing task quickly and successfully. However, others including some intermediate students can't do well in writing. When the topics are given, they can't make sure how to organize their compositions , and they always use some incorrect expressions. In order to improve their writing skills, I explain the passages that are connected with the writing activities in the textbook carefully including the writing structures and language points , then I teach students the specific structure of a certain writing activity. Next, I give students an example I wrote or found. But many of my students still can't finish their compositions with proper structures and right expressions. Could you please give me some advice on these? Thank you!
