need some guidence regarding research,

hello, i am pursuing my M.C.A Final Sem from Pune University and presently working with vCustomer Services Pvt Ltd. as Technical Support Engineer, i am interested to work in Computer Science research, development, or Support, but know the path of how to go for it, i am planning to appear for PhD examinations held by pune university or go for Higher Studies in USA, i am confused over what will help me to achive my goal. if please someone can guide me over.
