Teacher Burnout

Post by fireworks » Sat Mar 12, 2005 10:16 am

Hello everyone.
I teach EFL.
I have a question and would like some answers.
:?: How does a teacher deal with the BURNOUT problem?
Any articles or research papers?
Any advice?

Thanks.

Are you talking about teacher burnout or student burnout?

Hmm, the title says, "Teacher Burnout" so I guess that's what it is. I usually try doing something different. Having taught for over 35 years, I've seen what happens when some teachers get burned out. However, I was lucky enough to get involved with CALL classes, and that's made all the difference to me. I learned how to make webpages, use Flash to make quizzes, etc., and then use them with my students. I haven't gotten bored yet. :D

From many of your posts you seem to be wanting information to write papers for your courses. Is this another paper? Have you ever used google.com and typed in Teacher Burnout? There are some excellent articles on line. You could also read the posts of undeterred who seems to be suffering from this first hand or revel who has bouts of introspection about staying in his school.
