Speaking through critic reviews

Post by voxangelorum » Sat Nov 05, 2005 4:48 am

Hi

I'm thinking of adding a component into my course that would involve having the students watch an episode of something (min 30- max 60 minutes) and critique like a reviewer but I feel I'm reinventing the wheel.

I'm wondering if anybody knows some good materials out there I should look at. Googling is turning up a lot of near-misses. Just thought I'd ask the board.

I'm looking at having discussions on stuff like maybe:
The Apprentice
Survivor
Band of Brothers mini-series
Star Trek TNG (they're always little morality plays)

I'm just making up activities now. The longer I spend writing this the more I realize that I have specific questions to get class discussions going. However, maybe somebody has tread this path before.

?

Thanks in advance for helpful suggestions!
