HELP! Please

Post by SigEv » Tue Nov 29, 2005 4:03 am

I, like so many others, hope to teach in Spain. I'm thinking of applying to EBC or Canterbury. Can anyone offer any advise for a person who has a BA in Communications and one year expierience as a substitue teacher? I hear that if you have a degree that you don't need the TEFL, but I want the job assistance after completing the course and the info from the class I'm sure is very valuable. Can anyone tell me what the best time of year would be to go? I'm hoping to go in either April or May.

One other question that has been on my mind... How do the people of Spain feel about African Americans? I've read in the forum of people having trouble not being of caucasion decent. I hate to ask questions such as this, but it's the real world. Do African Americans have a hard time getting work? I ask because of all the stereotypes about blacks and ebonics and such, and just stereotypes in general. I realize you can't make a blanket statement about a whole country, but I ask to try and get a feel to see if this is a place where I would be willing to live and try to work.

Thanks in advance, any help is great help.
