Please help me get started. Very Eager to Teach Abroad

Hello, I am a Junior at Hunter College in New York City. I am a native English speaker and have lived in Manhattan all of my life. I spent a month in Hong Kong last year and fell in love with China and traveling in general. I am majoring in Asian History with a minor in music.

My question is, what kinds of certificates and/or programs should I complete to get my foot in the door and be able to begin teaching in Asia?

I heard that I need to take the TOEFL exam, but I checked their website and it says that it is geared towards non-native english speakers. Should I still take it? What is the next step for me???
