Hi
I'm a qualified non-native English teacher and I need to posses some certificate. I live in Poland, so CELTA is avaliable here, though it seems that TEFL is more popular all round the world (especially in terms of going abroad).
There are a lot of online courses of TEFL, but I'm not sureto what extend are they recognized ?
Thanks for any clues

TEFL courses on line
An online course is better then nothing, of course. Part of it depends on how well you can study by yourself.
If we were very good at that we could learn a lot from just reading.
However, it is the interaction with others in real life situations which makes human contact more effective. And the practice teaching experience is a valuable aspect.
If you expect to teach online, perhaps an online certificate will do.
Or, there are four-week intensive courses (like ours: www.TEFLofCanada.com ) which offer real life experience in learning and practice teaching. We think that the teaching experience and the cultural experience of taking our course in Bordeaux make it superior.
