what's the basic entrance score?
Just curious. For universities in the USA and Canada, what are the basic TOEFL scores needed for foreigners to be admitted? I imagine a range of scores depending on state or province, but what's the ballpark figure?
I have private lessons with someone studying for the TOEFL and I think he said for his MBA he needs around 250 points based on the computerized version of the test. I'm not 100% sure if that's right, and/or if that's just for his course, but it's what I recall. Someone out there might be a better source of info.

TEOFL Score requirement
Hi!
Since each university is different, the best way to check it out is to type in the key words "admission requirements", "TOEFL", and the name of the university you are interested in. Most universities post their requirements on-line. For example, I did this for my local university, The University of Manitoba, and got this information:
"Achieve an equivalent level of performance on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); i.e., 213 total score with a minimum of 17 in each component score."
GOOD LUCK!

To all,
Generally to enter an American university for a BA or BS, a student needs a minimum score of 500 on the paper test or 173 on the computer test, but some schools or particular departments require a higher score. For Graduate school the minumum is 550 for paper or 213 on the computer test. Again this can be higher depending on the school or department.
