Just a two year degree?!!

Hi,
I have a two-year degree and am looking into getting a certificate to teach English. ...but...Does a two-year degree "count" for anything? Is it recognized at all?
Also, if I NEED a BA, can I just get an online one ...to fit the BA requirement? (would be teaching in Eastern Europe)
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
