USA references in TOEFL--how to familiarize student

Hello all,

I'm teaching a 6 hour immersion course with another teacher. I'm focussing on improving the grammar of our student and she is in charge of the TOEFL part. I'm fairly new to teaching (and have never done anything with TOEFL) and the other teacher has asked me to include cultural/historial information about the US in my class. I'm not sure how to do this, or where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions? What types of references does the TOEFL include?
