TOTALLY DIFFERENT: My Experience withVIDEO in the Classroom

Post by son byrnes » Mon Mar 14, 2005 2:25 am

When I came into the office of the School Director for my appointment (to sign my new contract) I was shown a large entrance area.

When I earlier entered the doorway on the third floor of the building I had definitely noticed it. I wondered what it was. A new Video Installation by Paik Jun? No, not in this school.

"Let me show you our schools' latest leap in tecnology. A real breakthrough!," :P said the Director proudly as he swept through the play area. In plain view and in color was an immense Bank of TELEVISION SCREENS  . The screens were all silent. They were vaguely glimmering in the flourescent light of the entryway. A fun netpark of colored smurf balls was reflected in the shiny blacl screens. :P

Wow! "You are going to be on Television", said the Director! Hmm...really? Yes, all day long and in whatever room I was teaching. It was great, I really was on Television! :P
